Unmanaged Hosted Asterisk

Virtual Private Asterisk Servers (VPAS)

netVOICE communications makes it easy and inexpensive to obtain the benefits and cost savings of the Asterisk IP telephony platform: Hosted Asterisk

The concept behind VPAS is to use server virtualisation to cost-effectively provide clients with their own complete, private, and exclusive Asterisk server hosted at a carrier-grade colocation facility connected to digital telephone trunks.

Server virtualisation is the technology that enables a single server to be divided into multiple independent private server environment, each separated and protected from each other. By taking a large multi-processor Xeon server with Gbs of RAM and hundreds of Gb of disk and dividing it into many virtual servers, it is possible to provide private Asterisk servers for the fraction of the cost of an actual physical colocated server.

Asterisk is the leading open source telephony platform. The advent of the new AsteriskGUI developed by Digium to support their new Asterisk Appliance product enables non-experts to configure and manage their own Asterisk server. netVOICE's VPAS service makes it cost-effective to have their own Asterisk server.

For information on porting your existing telephone numbers to a VPAS, please see Local Number Portability.

NOTE: our Unmanaged Virtual Private Asterisk Server offering does not include any technical assistance or support -- the intent is to provide carrier-quality hosted Asterisk for those who wish to (and are able to) manage the server themselves.

VPAS customers who require assistance can either avail themselves of one of our Technical Support options (see www.netvoice.ca/support ) or consider our Managed Hosted IP PBX service .
